Mandy Collins is just one reason Gwinnett County students have a great place to learn. Collins, who teaches gifted education at McKendree Elementary School, deserves our finest congratulations.
Collins believes that gifted education is a critical part of Gwinnett’s educational offerings because it provides children that are able to assimilate knowledge at a faster rate than their peers an educational experience that meets their needs. It is Collins’ hope that her students leave the classroom with a love for learning and the tools they need to be thinkers of the future. Collins has been a teacher for 10 years in Gwinnett, and she will become part of the charter staff for Puckett’s Mill Elementary School for the 2008-2009 school year.
As is tradition, Hayes Chrysler is giving the Teacher of the Year a new car to drive for the summer as a way of saying: “Thank you, Mandy Collins, for ensuring Success Lives Here.”
